About Me
Based in beautiful Tauranga, New Zealand
I’m a Tauranga-based counsellor working with adolescents and adults who are navigating emotional distress, life transitions, and the impact of past experiences.
My work is grounded in creating a calm, safe, and supportive space where people can slow down, make sense of what they’re experiencing, and begin to move forward with greater clarity and confidence. I take a practical, evidence-informed approach, helping clients understand what’s happening for them and develop tools they can actually use in day-to-day life.
I grew up in the Waikato and have lived in Tauranga with my wife and children since 2014. Earlier experiences in community, youth, and volunteer settings shaped my interest in working closely with people and understanding how environment, relationships, and internal patterns influence wellbeing. Over time, this interest developed into a clear professional pathway, leading to the completion of my Bachelor’s degree in Counselling and the establishment of my private practice.
I began private practice in 2018 and have since worked with clients across a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, emotional regulation, and identity-related challenges. I have a particular interest in helping people understand their nervous system responses and build practical strategies that support steadier functioning and long-term change.
My Approach
I take a client-centred approach, meaning you're always in the driver's seat. My role is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Together, we'll work on understanding your experiences and developing strategies that work for you.
